10 Bible Promises to Encourage and Inspire You

I read about an elderly man in New Jersey who made a discovery as he leafed through an old family Bible. Many years earlier an aunt had left the Bible to him in her will. She wrote:
“To my Nephew Steven Marsh, I bequeath the Family Bible and all that it contains.”
Steven Marsh was not a religious guy, so he placed the Bible up in his attic and never looked at it again.
30 years pass, he’s living on a small pension and he is about to move in with his son. As he is packing up the things in the attic, he comes across the old trunk and the old family Bible that was left to him.
He thinks “it wasn’t much my Aunt left to me,” yet for the first time, he starts leafing through the pages. As he does this, he finds thousand dollar bills stuck between many of the pages of the Bible.
You see, he had all the provision that he ever needed stuck between the pages of that Bible – but he never opened it.
More than likely, if you open your Bible you will not find large amounts of money placed between the pages, but you will still find many treasures within God’s Words.
Some of the things that God promises us in the Bible are:
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” ~ Ephesians 3:20
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” ~ Philippians 4:13
“Call to me and I’ll answer you, and will tell you about great and hidden things
that you don’t know.” ~Jeremiah 33:3
“Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” ~ James 1:17
“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” ~Psalm 103:12
“The LORD will not abandon His people, because of His great name and because He has determined to make you His own people.’ ~ 1 Samuel 12:22
“And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. “ -Jesus, Matthew 6:30
‘Jesus said, “In me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”’ ~ John 16.33
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
~ Philippians 4:6-7
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. ~ Psalm 55:22
I encourage you to write these verses on index cards and read them often. It can also be helpful to post them on various places around your house, such as your desk, your bathroom mirror and above your kitchen sink. As you think about God’s promises, you will renew your mind and find encouragement in the midst of your busy day.
