How to Live With Enthusiasm and Joy

My favorite life quote is the following:

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching, love like
you’ll never be hurt, sing like there’s nobody listening, And live like it’s heaven on earth.”

-William W. Purkey

I love this quote because it encourages us to embrace life with passion and joyful gratitude.  Too many people seem to just exist, rather than enjoy the precious gift of life.  It’s as if they are always cautiously preparing to live, rather than truly living with fun and enthusiasm.  If you ask them why they aren’t happy, they might say, “I have to get through this thing first.  As soon as I finish school, as soon as I get a promotion, etc, then I will be happy.”  Instead, I want to joyfully seize the day and enjoy each precious moment I’ve been given.

Here are some more of my other favorite life quotes:

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.”

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass.  It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

-Vivian Greene

“Don’t ask what the world needs.  Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.  Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

-Howard Thurman

“For a long time it seemed to me that real life was about to begin, but there was always some obstacle in the way.  Something had to be got through first, some unfinished business; time still to be served, a debt to be paid.  Then life would begin.  At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”

                             -Alfred Souza

“May you live all the days of your life.”

-Jonathan Swift

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

-Albert Einstein

“What a wonderful life I’ve had!  I only wish I’d realized it sooner.”

-Sidonie Colette

“To live is the rarest thing in the world.  Most people exist, that is all.”

-Oscar Wilde

“Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

-Helen Keller
